Michele’s video uncertainties will be shown in the Video 825 screening on Saturday, October 4 from 11:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. at MAK DAY Seen and Heard in LA.

The MAK Center for Art and Architecture opens its doors annually for a free community day highlighting the diverse selection of cultural offerings in the city.  MAK Day 2003, Seen and Heard in L.A., focuses on alternative arts venues and their unique role in shaping the cultural life of Los Angeles. In light of current cutbacks in funding for the arts, it is imperative that the local community becomes aware of and supports the cultural resources in their neighborhood.  Scheduled events include performances, screenings, children?s workshops, talks and readings from a variety of Los Angeles area arts organizations.  Refreshments will be served throughout the day and visitors will be able to tour the famed Schindler House and view the current MAK Center exhibition, Schindler’s Paradise: Architectural Resistance.

A panel discussion inspired by the recently published volume, The Sons and Daughters of Los: Culture and Community in LA, will be the centerpiece of late afternoon activities.  The book, published by Temple University Press, explores popular culture produced by everyday people and the arts organizations that support these efforts.  Editor David James and other contributors to the book will be available for a book signing and discussion at the end of the day.
