I have to geek out for a moment. Check out Virginia Tech’s System X: 1100 Apple G5 Xservers, 4 Apple G5 Xserver Compliers, and one Xserve RAID for a total of 12 gigaflops of computing power and 2.7 terabytes of storage. Whoa. And it is only the 7th largest supercomputer in the world.

There has been a great cross pollination between the lotsofnoise forum and the urban planet forum. People have been cross posting – the “yuppies” and the “dirty artists”. Hopefully, people are learning that these labels are merely that, but at any rate, the conversation is very interesting and has engrossed me. Check it out.

Hmm. The Sony Playstation Portable goes on sale today. Should I buy one? I suppose I could try to use it for video artworks, then I can write it off, eh?

A just got an email from Tim Devin letting me know that the first phase of the Transcontinental Reversioning Society has been completed – he created a great remix of my Crocket The Ironmonger track Three Chords. Next up is my remix of it, and also my remix of his track, which for now I will not reveal.

I just hooked up Picasa’s Hello, which should enable me to post photos directly from Picasa. If it works, you should be looking at a rendering I recently worked on here at Osborn. Its of the new offices for Pacifica Electrical Contractors.

There is so much wrong with IMAX theater’s decision to not show the film “Volcanoes of the Deep Sea” because of its mention of evolution, that I just decided to stop going to IMAX theaters while this policy continues. Is there no room for competing viewpoints? Now a movie theater has to take it upon itself to decide which messages are allowed and which are not, on the basis of the supposed religious beliefs of its viewers? Are these beliefs so fragile that people cannot stand to see a film mention an opposing viewpoint in fear of their whole world collapsing?

John is gone..

Today we mourn the loss of car maker extraordinaire, John Delorean. Forget about Back to the Future for just a minute, and take a look at that car.

Original Brochure

My Favorite photo, with plane and those three people, what are they up to?

In Gold, if you like.

Multiples.

Interior drawing.

OH, and don’t forget:

“While at GM, he created what some consider the first “muscle car” in 1964 by cramming a V-8 engine into a Pontiac Tempest and calling it the GTO, fondly dubbed the “Goat” by auto enthusiasts.”

See the article at Salon

The GTO, also in Gold, though its just paint on this one.

I finished a new song this weekend, a folksy track I wrote based on some field recording I did in New York City. This one is about a girl I may have glimpsed while walking in the rain, and our possible life together.

While In New York.
