Tonight Otis College of Art and Design opens its annual MFA and BFA shows.. last years (see under reviews section) totally rocked – so we have high hopes for this years crop of students (some under the guidance and tutelage of our own Michele Jaquis). Previously unknown architects from London – Lab Studio – landed the comission of a lifetime – to design a new civic, cultural and commercial space and went at it with wild abandon. The article does a great job of documenting the whole process, as well as public opinion around the design. Apparently this will be shown on TV, but maybe only in Australia – I am not clear on that.
