Tonight Otis College of Art and Design opens its annual MFA and BFA shows.. last years (see under reviews section) totally rocked – so we have high hopes for this years crop of students (some under the guidance and tutelage of our own Michele Jaquis). Hope to see you there if yer in the LA area. Otis > Calendar Kicks off at 6 and runs to 9 pm. Meet us there and we’ll go grab some drinks later.

Check in here for great documentaion of the decidely wacky, though with some interesting moments, Federation Square project in Melbourne. Previously unknown architects from London – Lab Studio – landed the comission of a lifetime – to design a new civic, cultural and commercial space and went at it with wild abandon. The article does a great job of documenting the whole process, as well as public opinion around the design. Apparently this will be shown on TV, but maybe only in Australia – I am not clear on that.
