PWEI, or Pop Will Eat Itself, is one of my favorite bands – built around beats, guitar, and about a million samples. They were also early clients of The Designers Republic. For your friday morning pleasure, here is a site that breaks down their sample sources. For some reason, I love finding out where all that stuff comes from.

Yes, it is good to finally be back online…

This weekend at The Standard Hollywood, Friday through Monday, go to Scope Los Angeles. I am particularly looking forward to Saturday’s panel: Did Video Kill the Art Star? Featuring S.E. Barnet, Meg Cranston, Kevin Hanley, David Mather, Hillary Mushkin, Erika Suderburg, and moderated by Michael Sellinger.

Or if you’re looking to buy affordable art check out Gallery 825’s 50/50 show also opens this Saturday, 7-10pm.

Both events are 10 bucks, but promise to be well worth it.

This Shizzle is back on the Hizzle. Sorry for the downtime, but we are now re-hosted and re-DSL’d. Finally.

A flurry of stuff to come up soon – weekend like. A subtle re-design in the future. Summertime-like.

Takashi Murakami rocks my world today.

So, I watched the Disney version of “A Wrinkle in Time” last night and man, did they screw it up bad. There is perhaps one defining image from that book: a street full of children bouncing balls in unison as Meg walks down the street, like some twisted conformist zombies – and they didn’t even have that shot in the film! Not to mention the missing 2-dimensional world scene. I don’t know how you could adapt a book so badly, but there you go.

OK. I will stop being a dork now and get back to work.

Tonight ABC is showing Disney’s film version of “A Wrinkle in Time” by Madeline L’Engle. I’m watching. I loved those books back in the day – weren’t there three of them?

See here for info.

Disney is pulling its backing from Michael Moore’s new movie, Fahrenheit 911, because it is critical of Georgie, and his brother Jeb (the other Bush), governor of Florida, might pull tax credits from Disney World Orlando. Hmmm, what are the Bushs so worried about? Little do they know, they are lending credibility to Moore’s accusations in my mind.
