Colorful Maps

I go this email from my friend Josh today:

“We were thinking last night Obama’s electoral college margin of victory was looking pretty impressive, and given the last couple of elections it is obviously is. But I found this site that shows all the presidential electoral returns in our country’s history, and really Obama’s margin probably doesn’t even rank in the top third (I didn’t do the math). You only have to go back to Reagan v Mondale to find near unimaginable dominance, a 525 to 13 walloping! The biggest margin of victory I found, though, goes to FDR in 1936 over Alfred Landon (You remember him right? With the beard? And the thing?) 523 to 8 (remember Alaska and Hawaii’s 7 votes weren’t available as they were just territories then)! Jefferson also had a landslide victory back in the day (1804), as well as an electoral tie (1800) with Aaron Burr! Cool stuff.

Happy New Paradigm, everyone!
Josh”

FIXED!!

Yay, I fixed the blog.. ugh. Now its hosted back with us. Sorry for the outage there. Now GO VOTE!!!

Music, videos?

MTV has launched a web site archive of ALL their videos. ALL. THEIR. VIDEOS. Oh crap. Takes me back to the early 80s when they launched and were the biggest thing ever for a while.

Here is my favorite video, or rather, one of my faves. New Order are like scientists, cooking up this song in the studio so intently they look bored.

Drew is an internetting force to be reckoned with, I reckon. Natalee Dee is too though.

Two things in the media!

Last night, Dr. Doreen Granpeesheh was on KOCE here in Los Angeles, talking about her work at the Center for Autism and Related Disorders and the documentary “Recovered, Journeys through the Autism Spectrum and Back” that she and Michele Jaquis made together. They even showed a clip from “Recovered…” – it was so strange to see Michele’s work on the television, and to hear me and Mike’s music on it. Surreal.

Also! Today Italian design website Europaconcorsi published the Liner competition entry that I worked on at PMA. Check out the project on their site, as well as some of the other entries that are online so far.

New Texas

Is Alaska the new Texas?

Josh isn’t going to like that.
