Here’s a fun body experiment you and your significant other can perform… Get a piece of paper and tape it to the door of your bathroom (you’ll understand later) at about face height. Right before you go to bed, try to make a mark of your height on the paper. This is where your significant other can help out. And then mark the other’s height. Label the marks with your name and “PM”. Go to sleep.
As soon as you wake up, mark your height again (see? you’ll thank me for the bathroom door thing). Notice how you’ve grown while sleeping. Label it with name and “AM” if you want to be fancy.
As you have probably figured out, your spine collapses during the day, and stretches back out at night. It’s kinda wierd how much, though. My height varied by a full inch, maybe inch and an eighth. And by noon, I had already shrunk by a quarter inch. Funny body tricks…

Some moron decided to remake The In-Laws, a classic Peter Falk and Alan Arkin comedy and maybe even Falks best role (well, funniest at least, I dont know if you can compare anything to Columbo). Michael Douglas in Falks role? Gimme a break, and who the hell is Albert Brooks. The In-Laws

I cant find a good link for the original, so just trust me and go and rent it if you can find it.

Rise member, Michele Jaquis, has two videos to be screened on April 10th (tomorrow) in Performative Video @ Remote Lounge in New York City. This show is curated by Camilo Alvarez and includes “two 2 hour back-to-back screenings of contemporary video in which the artist confronts the viewer in more ways than one.” If you are in NY check it out, since we at Rise can’t be there.

Just got some snow today here in New England. What the hell is going on? I am sick of this stuff…

Anyway, lil’ bit of news. In June Highchair will be moving to a warehouse space over the Providence line in Pawtucket, in a building shared by businesses, yoga studios, and other artists. Our space will be split between our commercial and our fine art ventures. I’ll post photos on my site sometime in June when we complete the space. Nothing as cool as what Jeremy does, but we are excited to not be working in the house anymore (though that had its own perks).

Found a site (yeah, via Archinect) devoted to architecture in Glasgow, or by Glaswegian architects. Its good to see what has been going on over there since I was there last. Some funky work by gm+ad architects… some other neat stuff here and there by others. Take a peek around.Glasgow

Rise Industries has just been comissioned to reinvent Progressive Beverage’s office space – they are an importer of Soju, a Japanese liquor comparable to vodka but with a light taste and a hint of fruit. The project will consist of redesigning their Culver City office and warehouse space. Will keep you posted as the project progresses. Take a look at their website to learn more about Soju.

We are also working hard to invent some tasty new Soju cocktails – I will post these as they are approved by Rise staff for general consumption. This stuff is good.
