Over in the corner I could see this other guy

He was kinda flirty, he was giving me the eye

So I took advantage of the fact that I’m a star

Shook my hair and took a casual stroll up to the bar

And as sure as hell this guy was coming up to me

He said, “Who am I and who are you and who are we

What’s our situation, do we have some time for us”

I said I was not exactly waiting for the bus

He said, “If you’re going somewhere can I come along”

I said, “Keep on rocking baby, ’til the night is gone”

ABBA. On and On and On.

ABBA rules. I am listening to the 1981 album Visitors right now, which just happens to be featured on this ABBA fetish website. Go on, take a look. It’ll hook you too. ABBA

Been out on the east coast for some turkey and snow for the past week, and am just getting back into things in LA now. After 14 hours of delays, turbulence, throngs of holiday travellers screaming over missed connecting flights and even the added insult of a screening of Spy Kids – nothing soothes like gliding over the infinite glowing lights of Los Angeles on a clear, warm night.

Will post photos of the trip as soon as possible, which could be months from now.

An interview with Matthew Barney in Tate Magazine’s second issue. Mmmmmm, Barney. here

If anyone know how I could possibly get to see the whole Cremaster series, without flying to New York, please let me know.

Some photos of the new MIT dorms by that Holl guy. “Inside the buildings, sensuous volumes resembling a dolphin’s skin fold and curve upward to skylights” – What? Are you sure? But, really, the project is impressively ugly and repetitive – in a good way. I can’t wait to go visit it next week perhaps. It seems like it has a lot of potential.H

New York architects LTL (Lewis.Tsurumaki.Lewis) gave a lecture here at SCI-Arc last night, and I must say it was refreshing to see work produced with and interest in working within the profession and language of architecture in order to find new expressions and to test what architecture can do. Their work is carefully thought out, beautifully represented, and extremely clever. They are certainly not lacking a sense of humor. All of this adds up to make them one of my new favorite firms. Go take a look at some of their work online at LTL , especially the New Suburbanism project, a smart take on how to use sprawl instead of just endlessly railing against it.

Today is music day. You want Pizzicato Five… new album. Go here for Mp3 single. How nice. You also want an older album “Happy End of the World” which rocks in a funky retro way. 5555
