TMN has a great article discussing New Urbanist plans to rebuild New Orleans – do we really need a nostalgia fueled village where a diverse city once stood?
“New Urbanism works great in very specific circumstances—upper-middle-class subdivisions, seaside resorts, downtown commercial centers—but it is less applicable to large, mixed-income communities, let alone working-class places like the Mississippi coast.”
